Buttercreme Icing

                                                                        

½ cup shortening
½ cup butter
1 ½ Tbsps ~ clear vanilla
4 Tbsps. Water or milk
6 cups confectioners sugar
dash of salt
 

Cream butter & shortening together. Add confectionery sugar 1 cup at a time (mixture will be thick), then add all liquid ingredients and stir until blended. Next, scrape sides and bottom of bowl. Beat on medium speed for 5 to 8 minutes.

Snow White Buttercreme


¼ cup shortening
¼ cup butter
1 egg white
½ tsp. Coconut extract
1 tsp. Clear vanilla
2 cups confectioners sugar
 

Cream egg whites, shortening, butter, and extracts. Beat in sugar until light and fluffy.

Poured Icing:

 

1 lb. Dry fondant
¼ cup water
2 tsp. Vegetable oil
¼ tsp. Flavoring
color as desired
 

Combine fondant and water on top of double boiler. Heat and stir until it reaches 1500(F).
Add remaining ingredients, stir until slightly thickened

Cream Cheese Icing:


24 oz. Softened cream cheese
3 cups confectioners sugar
 

Beat cream cheese until smooth. Add confectioner’s sugar, mix thoroughly. Beat on high until light and fluffy.

High Humidity Icing:


1 ½ cups Crisco
2 tbsp. Dry Dream Whip
2 tsp. Vanilla
 

Mix together and beat 5 minutes.
Add alternately to the mixture> 8 cups confectionery sugar, 1/2 cup flour, 2/3 cup milk

Royal Icing:


3 tbsp. Meringue powder
4 cups confectionery sugar
6 tbsp. Warm water
 

Beat all ingredients until peaks form. (8-10 minutes) Makes 3 cups. When finished, keep covered with a damp cloth.
